ARTIST’S STATEMENT

mon esprit divague
le son de sa voix, le texture de sa peau
je vois son visage
des fragments, des bribes
j’entrevois un visage, je pense que c’est un visage, et puis soudain, je vois son visage
c’est fou, c’est si délicat
mon esprit divague
comme une constellation dans mon inconscient

A short film about remembering: about the fragmented moments that are conjured and then fade before my mind’s eye when I daydream. About trying to grasp hold of these mercurial images, describing what they ‘look’ and ‘sound’ like to me.

This film represents part of my ongoing research into the psychology and physiology of human memory. I am interested in the phenomena of mental imaging and recall: how and why the mind retrieves particular moments during reverie or daydream. I hope this film describes something of the nature or sensation of these processes.
