Audio/ visual free improvisation featuring Phil Archer, John
Ayers, Andre Bosman, John Bowers, Laura Cannell, Bennett
Hogg, Nick Melia,
Alex Sanders, Will Scrimshaw, Tom Simmons Shigeto Wada and
Liam Wells
Two groups of performers based in Norwich & Newcastle will
distribute and process mixed audio/ visual feeds over the
Internet between each other during a free improvisation

Song structures will be used as a basic framework in which
Nick Melia, Matt Rogalsky and Tom Simmons will appropriate
existing
software instruments as gating systems filtering audio
feeds originating from Melia’s larynx and modified
guitar using an Internet connection between Canada and
Norwich

and Tom Simmons
A local network system which permits the distribution
of control data (produced during performances of software
instruments) and
that governs each individual’s access to and control over
that data will be used as a system within which a game strategy
will enforce potential improvised decision making.

Audio/ visual systems devised by Tom Simmons will be
modified and used as hubs within which six performers
will distribute
a/v material
and control data in an improvisation that will see
serial/ parallel material and control data ‘chains’ forming a strategy
for performance.
