FEDORA, 2009, single channel video installation
Inspired by Italo Calvino's 1972 novel
Le citta invisibili
INSTALLATION
Partially sandblasted glass sphere, video projector, DVD on continuous loop

Fedora is a city in constant flux, impossible to define or contain. It is the inhabitants of Fedora- their lives, their dreams, their desires and imaginations- who shape its ever-changing form:
Views of the
City of Water merge together inside a suspended, hollow glass sphere. The digitised 8mm footage flickers and stammers as this dream-city evolves. The projected light wraps around the curves of the glass- distorting the shapes of its buildings and skylines, separating and refracting its colours.
